on Perseverance

excerpt from Ivanka Trumps Book

“[in reference to the  difficult days her father experienced financially and business wise in the early 1990s] His struggles during that period continue to inspire me, and I have to think there’s a great lesson to learn from his tenacity. People tend to give up without much of a fight, in business and in everything else. It doesn’t have to carry the weight or gravity of a $900 million debt. It could be $5,000 owed to a credit card company. It could be an unpaid student loan, accruing interest while the borrower has yet to lock down a first job after graduation. It could be a middle manager stuck in a position that doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. It could be a student unable to get it together to study for the LSATs. There are roadblocks to our success at every turn, and its up to each of us to find the resiliency and strength of character to get past them. Instead of arriving early and working late so they can make a stronger case for promotion , some people simply tap through the hours and hopetheir mediocre work might continue to go unnoticed. instead of signing up for a tutoring  course or doubling down on time spent studying , some people never take the LSATs and allow their dreams of becoming a lawyer fall away. My father refused to be one of these people.  […] finding the fortitude needed to achieve long-term success is one of the fundamental challenges facing young people in business.” [pg 196-197, Trump Card]

you can also reference the bible regarding the essential need for the development of perseverance in all areas of our lives:
