Psalm 119:34-36 (New International Version)

34 Give me understanding, so that I may keep your law
   and obey it with all my heart.
35 Direct me in the path of your commands,
   for there I find delight.
36 Turn my heart toward your statutes
   and not toward selfish gain.

Psalm 119:34-36 (The Message)

 33-40 God, teach me lessons for living
      so I can stay the course.
   Give me insight so I can do what you tell me—
      my whole life one long, obedient response.
   Guide me down the road of your commandments;
      I love traveling this freeway!
   Give me a bent for your words of wisdom,
      and not for piling up loot.
   Divert my eyes from toys and trinkets,
      invigorate me on the pilgrim way.
   Affirm your promises to me—
      promises made to all who fear you.
   Deflect the harsh words of my critics—
      but what you say is always so good.
   See how hungry I am for your counsel;
      preserve my life through your righteous ways!

This past weekend was the worship department’s annual retreat. as a department it was good for everyone to purpose to come together, get to know eachother and get on the same page. in so ensuring that we all know the hope of our calling together as a department and brothers and sisters in the kingdom of God and make every effort to keep the unity of spirit through the bond of peace. personally, it was a time to glean more truth, a see a clearer way/direction, be thankful, laugh, exhale and create memories. I was glad when they said, ‘let us go to the house of the lord’.

note: i love the imagery of the gps. it was funny because my GPS couldn’t find the location we were going but only could find its way back. mapquest [of all sites] was the only one pulling up direct and clear directions. same thing with God. its not until we plug into him and the word do we get clear/direct directions for where he is taking us. no other source will be able to find it. encourage it. with the most direct route. Only God can take you to the place he’s prepared. trust him and follow the directions. with full faith you will arrive at that destination. no matter how long it takes or how unfamiliar the route. hmmmm thats good! i need to medidate on that again.
