Miss Leila Lopes of Angola was crowned Miss Universe last night.
when she was asked what was one thing she would change about herself, she responded: “Thank God I’m very satisfied with the way God created me and I wouldn’t change a thing,” Lopes said when asked her interview question. “I consider myself a woman endowed with inner beauty. I have acquired many wonderful principles from my family and I intend to follow these for the rest of my life.”
Miss Angola Leila Lopes isn’t the first winner from Africa. Previous winners from the continent include Miss South Africa (1978), Miss Namibia (1992), and Miss Botswana (1999).
