we’re reading this book entitled ‘one in a million’ for our bible study and it deals a lot with the idea of seasons and in particular the wilderness season but i read an article by christine caine entitled ‘know your season’ and i thought it was so good that i wanted to post it here. please read it here and go to her website equipandempower.org for more articles and information about her.
I am reminded that “to everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under the sun.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1)
Life has a rhythm and cycles. In order to navigate through each day it is important to recognize what season you are in.
So often we end up frustrated because we try to do the right thing in the wrong season.
I want to encourage you today to take some time and evaluate where you are.
1. Are you trying to plant a seed where you should be cultivating the ground?
2. Are you cultivating the ground when you should be watering?
3. Are you watering what you should be harvesting?
4. Are you trying to harvest what you have not yet planted?
I have found that if you simply do what you are supposed to do in the season that you are actually in, then God will bring the increase.
Take the pressure off yourself. Do what you can, when you can, where you are, and then God will do what only He can do.
